Sewing Stretch Fabrics for Intermediate Sewers

TICKETS: Now only £63.47

In this 4 hour, small, 8-person workshop Lydia will be teaching the essentials of sewing stretch fabrics in the informal and lovely environment of the lifestyle store Restoration Yard.

Aimed mostly (but not exclusively!) towards women with little ones in their lives, the class will teach you how to make a pair of baby leggings and a pair of high waisted women’s pants as well as teaching some basic skills using scrap material. The class will be bring your own sewing machine* so that you can take the skills you pick up and use them at home later! All additional materials will be supplied but feel free to bring your scissors/pins/fabrics of choice if you have materials you are comfortable working with and if you have clothing you’d like to recycle into smaller items bring that along too!

At the end of the class you will take home:

- A set of ballpoint needles

- A minimum of 2 patterns in your desired sizes

- A pair of baby leggings

- A pair of pants for yourself

- And last but not least invaluable knowledge and skills to carry on sewing on your own!

Lydia will take you through your project step by step and be there for help and chat during the entire time- you might even get to meet baby Ransom at some point! Included in the price of the event is a cup of tea, shortbread, soup, and bread from the amazing catering team for a wee break mid-way through. There’s no limit on how much you can make during the course, there will be plenty of materials to go around, the above list should be the minimum you’d be making.

Before the class when you have purchased your tickets, Lydia will get in touch to ask what sizes of patterns you will need as well as any additional information that may be pertinent.

*If you don’t have a sewing machine that you can bring a machine can be sourced for you but you have to let us know well in advance.
